Two consulting laparoscopic surgeons, Dr. Kiran K.J and Dr. Shivakumar, see patients at the clinic for surgical problems. Small procedures are done in our Minor Operation Theatre; when a major operation is needed, they guide you on the next steps.
What is laparoscopic surgery?
Laparoscopic or keyhole surgery is done through a few small cuts using a camera and fine instruments. Compared with open surgery, it usually means smaller scars, less pain and a quicker return to daily activities, though the best method depends on each patient.
Common laparoscopic operations include gallbladder removal, hernia repair and appendix removal. The surgeon will explain whether keyhole surgery is suitable for you after examining you and looking at your reports.
What can the surgeons do at Prasanna Poly Clinic?
At the clinic, the surgeons examine you, review scans and tests, and explain your options. Blood tests and X-ray can be done in the same building to help with the diagnosis and to prepare for surgery.
Small procedures such as abscess drainage, removal of small lumps and suturing are done in the clinic's minor operation theatre. Major operations are not done at the clinic; if you need one, the surgeon will guide you on where and how to proceed.
